Our goal and our passion is to support public school students by ensuring that their bellies and their minds are filled. Students can't learn to their full potential when they are hungry, and their families can't support their learning when they can't afford groceries or school meals. Hungry Minds seeks to help those public school students and families who may or may not qualify for government assistance but have food security issues nonetheless. We help feed students and their families via our own programs as well as by supporting other organizations. Hungry Minds also seeks to open the door to opportunity by promoting and supporting higher education opportunities via scholarship awards. Hailing from Richmond, Virginia, Dr. Tobias Keene brings a bit of unabashed Southern hospitality to all his patients. He moved to Washington, D.C. over thirty years ago as a freshman at Ivy College. Right after graduation, he attended World University’s School of Dentistry. Before opening Keene Dental in 1994, he worked for free clinics and some of the finest practices in the District. He is part of the 123 Dental Association and stays up-to-date on the latest dental discoveries. He returned in 2014 with Debbie after a long business career, including regional and global division Chief Executive positions with a large, multi-national insurance organization. He is currently the Chairman of the Board of R&Q Insurance Holdings Ltd, a Bermuda based and London AIM Exchange listed global specialty insurance company. He also recently served for 5 years on the board of directors of Zurich Insurance Group Ltd, one of the largest European based global insurance companies.
